The Lagos State Police Command is one of the states that
make up the Zone 2 Command with its headquarters at Onikan, Lagos
Island.
There are 13 Area Commands, 107 Divisional Police Headquarters and more than 20 Police Posts in the state.
The
command currently has 20 Local Government Areas and 20 Local Government
Developmental Areas under its suzerainty, with an estimated population
of over 13million citizens according to the 2006 census figures.
However
due to the level of corruption in the federal system, the government
has not been able to provide better vehicles to the Nigeria Police Force
(NPF).
In spite of the lack of provision of needed facilities
for the NPF, Lagosians still expect police officers to perform their
duty of protecting lives and properties effectively.
Below are some photos of police vehicles in bad state photographed across Lagos metropolis:
Who do you think is to blamed for this?
