Just a month
after getting his 100th cap for the
Super Eagles of Nigeria, captain and number one goalkeeper
Vincent Enyeama has been voted the 'Greatest Nigerian Goalkeeper' by
Pulse Sports readers.
Pulse Sports a
fortnight ago published a poll asking readers to vote for the 'Greatest
Nigerian Goalkeeper' from a slew of legendary names in the history of
Nigerian football- Alloy Agu, Ike Shorunmu, Joseph Dosu, Peter Rufai and Vincent Enyeama.
Alloy
Agu who was Super Eagles number one goalkeeper in the 90s and Ike
Shorunmu who was the Super Eagles number one goalkeeper in their first
two matches at the 2002 FIFA World Cup had zero votes.
Joseph Dosu who was between the post for the Dream Team who made history in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atalanta had 3.4% of the total votes.
Super
Eagles goalkeeper for the 1994 and 1998 World Cups, Peter Rufai was the
closest to winner Vincent Enyeama as 27.6 % of the voters named him
'Greatest Nigerian Goalkeeper'.
Vincent Enyeama was however a clear winner with 69% of the voters naming him the 'Greatest Nigerian Goalkeeper'.
